Wm5b. The connection is made as shown in the figure below. Windings of a three phase transformer can be connected in various configurations as (i) star-star, (ii) delta-delta, (iii) star-delta, (iv) delta-star, (v) open delta and (vi) Scott connection. These configurations are explained below.
In STAR Connection, the starting or finishing ends (similar ends) of three coils are connected together to form the neutral point in the shape of letter โYโ. A common wire is taken out from the neutral point which is known as the Neutral Wire. In DELTA Connection, the opposite ends of three coils are connected together which forms the shape

A wye system consists of two coils, or rotors, which are connected in series and run at different speeds by varying the amount of current sent through them. A delta system also consists of two coils, or rotors, but are connected in parallel. The output shaft, which connects the coils together, turns at a constant speed.
In view of the analysis of the differences in amplitude of the switching current for the common and the preferential forms of delta connection, a prototype of a drive system was assembled in the laboratory to enable the sequential use of each of the two forms of delta connection, with the start of the motor in star connection of the stator winding.
